Bango Distribution was born in 2015 at the forefront of California’s emerging medical cannabis industry, as a means to channel our love for cannabis and its diverse benefits. Thus began our mission to not only cultivate the highest quality sun-grown flower that Sonoma County’s ideal growing conditions provide, but to distribute that flower to medical dispensaries statewide as efficiently as possible. In tandem with recreational legalization in 2016, Bango developed and launched our first consumer brand: Elyon Cannabis. Elyon has become the beacon which guides us forward, its excellence in cultivation and strain offerings garnering widespread praise from both industry and consumers alike.

2021 marks the next phase of our evolution with the launch of a new tier under the Elyon brand, plus several completely new brands under the Bango umbrella, including:

  • The Lid—superior-quality, low-cost pre-ground flower in larger sizes.
  • Feelz Flower—high-testing smalls and lower-testing kolas at incredible prices.
  • Elyon CBD—full-flower CBD to serve this rapidly-expanding market.
  • Brûlée—premium extracts for the high-test enthusiast and terpene-forward purist.

Bango now continues our mission to further elevate cannabis through the acquisition of diverse cultivation properties—in order to explore refined expressions of appellation and terroir and meet the ever-growing consumer demand for more cannabis products. Both within the Golden State, and in other state markets as they embrace a better future!

THE EVOLUTION OF BANGO

2015

Elyon Cannabis’ parent company, Bango Distribution, is established to facilitate the legal purchasing of cannabis from the Emerald Triangle and subsequent distribution to medical cannabis dispensaries statewide. One year prior to California’s legalization of recreational cannabis usage under Prop 64, Bango became one of the first—and strongest—players in the legal distribution sector with nearly 500 medical dispensary clients.

2016

Subsequent to the passing of Prop 64, Bango Distribution builds out a fully-regulated and semi-automated processing, fulfillment and distribution facility in central Santa Rosa to meet the rapidly increasing demand for legal cannabis both medical and recreational. The facility also allows Bango to offer white label, fulfillment and distribution services to outside brands.
null

2017

Given the now-expanded processing and distribution capabilities, a decision is made to more carefully control cannabis quality, and in 2017 Bango expands its purvue to include four separate one-acre farms across southern Sonoma County, each dedicated to the production of premium sun-grown cannabis.
null

2018

In 2018 Bango Distribution officially launches the Elyon Cannabis brand, selling proprietary Sonoma County flower to dispensaries state-wide. By year’s close, consumer sales increase to more than $20 million dollars in premium flower sold in Elyon-branded jars and pouches direct to consumers.
null

2019

A new, comprehensive, and wildly-successful marketing program stimulates direct consumer engagement and sales, driving rapid brand growth until the need for a permanent marketing department becomes vital. Expansion into a 6,000 square foot office suite in northern Santa Rosa allows Bango’s sales, marketing, and procurement departments to push forward towards a future that includes both expanded Elyon marketing campaigns and all-new brands.
null

2020

2020 saw launch of two completely new brands under the Bango umbrella to serve emerging markets (medical CBD products), and leverage high quality residual processing leftovers into value-based smokable flower (pre-ground flower products). Additionally, our distribution facility will migrate to a new state-of-the-art 10,000 square foot facility, thus allowing Elyon to meet growing consumer demand and quadruple sales to nearly $80 million annually.
